Aside from our primary mission of meeting the emergency communication needs of those we serve, we also educate through local schools and organizations. We offer free classes and training, with classes for all three levels of license. We try to offer at least one class each quarter, and they typically last about three days. We also work with both the Boy and Girl Scouts, helping them get merit badges for communication.|
Anyone can join, even without a license. If you enjoy communications, we would love to have you with us. We'll provide a mentor, and you can work with us whenever you have time. All we require is a willingness to learn and help, and that you pay your $25 annual membership fee. Of course, most volunteers either own or purchase their own radio equipment, such as a handheld radio.
